carved to one side with a seated elder in a grotto, in front of an attendant behind a cart, all surrounded by pine and wutong trees among jagged rocks, the stone of brilliant blue colour with beige inclusions
Condition
The boulder is in overall good condition. There are expected minor nicks to the edges and fragile extremities of the carving, including the edges of the base and the wutong and pine leaves. There is also faint surface wear. The actual colour of the stone is of a more vibrant tone than illustrated in the catalogue.
