- bronze
cast in two pieces, the handle with the head of Vairocana supporting a half vajra-shaped terminal, the bell cast with lança characters within lappets on the shoulder, and the bajixiang within tassels around the body, the interior cast with an inscription in lança script on the wall opposite a seven-character jingzao mark
Condition
There is a 3.5 cm crack visible form both sides extending from the mouth of the bell. There is another cracked section on the opposite side, also visible from both sides, with an associated small 1 cm section of repair to the cast, as well as a 1cm chipped section to the top of the outer rim.
