Description

  • Huali wood
the top of standard mitre, mortise, tenon frame construction with exposed tenons on the short sides of the frame top and a transverse brace underneath, the beaded straight apron tongue-and-grooved into the round legs

Condition

There are some water stains on the top and a few age cracks to the frame. As expected, the rattan matting is likely a later replacement. There have been some interventions, especially to some sections of the spandrels which are likely to be later replaced. The legs are somewhat worn and slightly reduced in height which can be expected of this type. There is an area of pitting to the edge of the top possibly the result of a burn now filled with wax. Overall it is in good presentation.
