the sides of the box and cover set with bosses to the shoulders, applied overall with an ivory-coloured glaze, with a trio of dots in dark brown glaze decorating the cover, the ovoid jar applied with a cream-coloured glaze

Provenance

The box and cover: Sotheby's Olympia, 10th September 2002, lot 187 (part lot).

Condition

The two pieces are generally in good condition. There are a few typical potting flaws to the body of the jar and a shallow chip to the footrim, most likely original from the firing.
