Description

  • ceramic
the ovoid body incised and divided into six sections and set with a slender curving spout opposite a strap handle, surmounted by a tall neck rising to a flaring rim, covered overall in a transparent glaze slightly tinged to blue

Condition

The ewer is in overall good condition. There is a small chip to the tip of the spout and to the underside of the rim. There is a firing crack and possibly a small flake to the glaze on the join of the strap handle to the body which appears to have been stabilised.
