the square body and columnar corners raised on four round waisted feet, the rim set to each side with bat-form handles, one suspending a loose ring, the body carved in relief with lotus below a keyfret band, the flattened cover of conforming shape with further lotus and a phoenix medallion to each of the four corners, with later-added liners for conversion into an ink well; together with a cloisonné enamel stem cup with a later-added parcel-gilt iron foot, 17th century and later; and a paste-set metal-mounted white jade thumb ring, Qing dynasty (6)
Condition
The censer missing one ring handle. Several small chips to rim, otherwise in good condition.
The cup with some pitting and flaking to enamels, mostly to the stem section. The base associated.
The metal finial to the mounted jade ring bent.
