A SPLENDID COPY IN A PRESENTATION BINDING BY BRADEL L’AINE. FROM THE LIBRARY OF THE GEOGRAPHER AND CARTOGRAPHER EUGENE DE FROBERVILLE. The author was appointed Resident of France in China and consul at Canton in 1784. A decade later he accompanied the Dutch embassy to Peking. The plates illustrate views, architecture of palaces and pagodas, street life, gardens and costume.
