Catalogue Note

The maps from the wood blocks record the relative locations of mountains, agricultural fields, ponds, waterways, bridges and roads. "Pictorial icons and text also identify residential structures, Buddhist temples, ancestral temples, and graves. Several family names indicate ownership of various structures and places by multiple individuals or clans" (All Under Heaven).
