A SCARCE PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPILATION, taken in the aftermath of the Boxer Uprising by the Japanese photographer Sanshichiro Yamamoto. "This album contains views of imperial palaces and sights of Peking, and also numerous photographs of foreign detachments and encampments, in and around the Forbidden City, plus manoeuvres outside the city walls of Peking; some photographs represent military personnel" (Western Travellers in China).
