Oblong 8vo (128 x 193mm.), 24 matt silver prints (82 x 110mm.), mounted on thick card, recto and verso, each captioned on the mount in ink in French, contemporary black half calf, green cloth boards, gilt edges, some light spotting

Catalogue Note
A good collection of photographs of Beijing, possibly taken by a member of the Belgian legation, including the city walls and gates (one covered in scaffolding), camel caravans, the railway station, Chinese monuments at Nanking, views of the Summer Palace, Chinese tombs, street scenes and traders (barber, kitchen, tea seller, merchants, butcher etc.), and images of the legation district of Beijing.
