Catalogue Note

RARE. We can trace only one copy sold at auction in the past 40 years. The photographs depict 'Chinese theatricals', 'Chinese priests', Temple in the city', 'the Aquarius company's steam factory and water distillery', 'Chinese Amahs', 'the Cangue', 'the chain-gang', 'Chinkiang', and 'the hills, Fung-Wang-San'. The woodcut shows a 'Chinese wheelbarrow'.
