Jessie Marion King (1875–1949), Scottish painter, designer, art teacher and illustrator of children’s books from Glasgow, she is considered the foremost Scottish book designer and illustrator of her time. She was highly influenced by Macintosh and the Scottish Art Nouveau and Deco movements, she was also a member of various Scottish art societies. Aside from this painting prepared for her daughter, we do not believe she ever illustrated a published version of the “Pied Piper”.
