Theodore Seuss Geisel (1904–1991) was an American artist, writer, illustrator and cartoonist best known for his quirky characters in children’s books written under the name Dr. Seuss. A most prolific writer and artist who illustrated books, magazines, advertisements, propaganda and various animated films, brought us the Grinch (1957), Horton (1955), and The Cat in the Hat (1957) among many other classics.
