Walt Elias Disney (1901–1966) was an American animator and film producer, pioneer in the American animation industry, entrepreneur and creator of the Disney Studios and subsequent theme parks. Mickey Mouse debuted in 1928 with the animated cartoon Steamboat Willie, as did Minnie (Minerva) Mouse, conceived by Ub Iwerks and Disney.
