Catalogue Note

Walter Elias Disney (1901–1966) was an American animator and film producer, pioneer in the American animation industry, entrepreneur and creator of Disney Studios and theme parks. Mickey Mouse debuted in 1928 with the animated cartoon Steamboat Willie, as did Minnie (Minerva) Mouse), while Pluto appeared in 1930, Horace Horsecollar was a character created as one of Mickey’s friends by Ub Iwerks and Disney about 1929.
