Condition

Unexamined out of the frame. The canvas is original. The canvas is sound and undulates slightly along the left part of the lower edge. There are two shallow pushes in the upper left quadrant. There is a small indentation in the upper right corner, possibly due to an object behind the canvas. There is some light frame abrasion to all four corners and to the upper left vertical edge, and there are two very small areas of loss to the extreme upper right vertical edge, possibly due to frame abrasion. There is a very small patch of flaking paint to the extreme upper left corner. The tips of the thicker impasto elements have been flattened throughout. There is a very light layer of surface dirt. Subject to the above, the work is in overall very good condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no obvious signs of restoration or retouching. The work is presented in a simple white painted wooden tray frame with a white rebate held under glass.
