Catalogue Note

First edition of the Greek New Testament in octavo format. In his address to the reader, dated 23 May 1524, the printer, Wolfgang Köpfel (Cephalaeus), announces this as his first publication, in which he was helped by his kinsman (consanguineus), Wolfgang Fabritius Capito, Lutheran scholar, who at this time was in close connection with Erasmus.
