Description

  • Harry Bertoia
  • Untitled (Early Dandelion)
  • stainless steel with marble base

Provenance

Acquired by the present owner from Knoll, circa 1955
Thence by descent to the present owner

Condition

Overall excellent original condition. The metal surfaces with some scattered areas of light oxidation, consistent with age. A few rods with slight bending that are not visually distracting. The steel rod with a few minute specks of white house paint. The original marble base with minor surface scratches and a small chip at the aperture for the rod, visible only upon close inspection. A great early example of Bertoia’s iconic dandelion form.
