Condition
Illustration is fine.
Solid structure and overall good condition.
The carving is delicate; refreshment to the gilding in places; few chips to the decoration.
The seat rails in places with later block but as said overall condition is a good. Material in fine condition.
A very few minor old traces of woodworm only visible at the reverse of the seatrail.

Etienne Meunier, menuisier actif à Paris au milieu du XVIIIe siècle
Le Metropolitan Museum de New York conserve dans la collection Wrightsman un ensemble de quatre fauteuils en suite avec la paire que nous présentons. Les fauteuils sont délicatement ornés sur les dossiers, ce qui laisse supposer qu'ils étaient destinés à être utilisés comme des sièges courants et non meublants.
