la ceinture ornée d'une frise de feuilles de lotus et de feuilles de palmier, les montants antérieurs cambrés ornés de feuillages et de masques d'empereur et sommés de masques d'Hermès, les montants arrière ornés de rosettes réunis par une tablette d'entretoise en marbre vert de mer, le dessus muni d'un plateau en marbre vert de mer amovible découvrant un bac formant jardinière

Condition
Good overall condition
Both marble tops are later, the gilding is in good condition, very nice chasing, the upper top can be remove and the upper rail can be turned into flower pot.

Catalogue Note
Notre console est intéressante par son décor particulièrement riche caractéristique du début du style Empire, mais aussi par sa construction toute en bronze doré et patiné. Très appréciés sous l’Antiquité, les meubles en bronze doré réapparaissent à la fin du XVIIIe siècle tout en restant particulièrement très rares. Notre console se distingue par ses dimensions importantes alors que la plupart des tables connues sont des petits guéridons ou tables de salon. A titre d’exemple, citons la table de milieu d’époque Consulat attribuée à Thomire provenant des collections du palais abbatial de Royaumont, vente Christie’s Paris, le 13 septembre 2011, lot 7.
