Description

of shallow form with bracketed rim, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with entwined floral stems, design repeated in cavetto, rim with stylised curls, loose leaf motif on exterior, underside with drill holes for suspension and old collection label
Condition
In fair condition, hairline cracks throughout glaze with associated discoloration, firing marks and bubbles, some abrasion to external edges, notably to rim and foot, one of drill holes broken and re-drilled, two old collection labels, as viewed.

Catalogue Note
This dish is remarkably similar to an example in the Al-Sabah collection, Kuwait, inv. no. LNS 762C, which is attributed by Watson to Tabriz (Watson 2004, p.455). A comparable dish was sold in these rooms, 24 October 2007, lot 160.
