Arabic manuscript on paper, 464 leaves plus 2 flyleaves, approximately 12 lines to the page, written in neat Maghribi script in brown ink, catchwords, surah headings written in larger gold Kufic script, each with an illuminated roundel stretching into the margin, margins ruled in red and blue, textual divisions marked throughout with elaborate illuminated marginal devices (c.200) in many different designs, double page illuminated frontispiece comprising 2 panels of interlocking geometric motifs in colours and gold, following page with an illuminated panel for surah al-Fatiha, f.2a with further illuminated headpiece for surah al-Baqara, illuminated finispiece with colophon text in gold ornamental Kufic script, brown morocco binding with moulded foliate cartouches, gilt-tooled doublures, with flap

In generally good overall condition, binding worn and repaired, pages generally clean and illumination bright, minor staining, as viewed.
