Persian manuscript on paper, composed of 6 album pages comprising 10 calligraphic leaves in total, each 4 lines to the page, written in neat nasta'liq script in black ink, each line sprinkled with gold, leafy sprays decorating the interstices, foliate corner pieces, ruled in colours and gold, cream outer margins flecked with gold, opening page with 2 lines of text and illuminated headpiece composed of interlacing vines against blue and gold grounds, reddish-brown morocco binding with gilt-stamped lobed medallions filled with chinoiserie cloud bands and vegetal motifs 

Condition

In good overall condition, minor wear to binding especially the spine, minor water stains, pages generally clean, as viewed.

Catalogue Note

The manuscript was in Ottoman hands with possession notes by al-Hajj Sayyid Jamil Ezmiri dated 1203 AH/1788-89 AD, together with his seal impression and that of Mustafa Tawfiq...zadeh, dated 1230 AH/1814-15 AD.
