The surface of this qibla indicator was engraved with a horizontal dial marked with the hour-lines of the Babylonian hours (numbered 1-14 and subdivided to 30 minutes) with a hinged pin gnomon. The top right quarter features a degree arc divided 0-90 degrees, numbered by 5 degree abjad numerals, subdivided to 1 degree.
