Catalogue Note

In the colophon, Ibn Pir Muhammad Muqim states that this is his forty-fourth copy of the Qur'an. His only recorded works are two copies of the Sahifah Sajjadiyah in the Gulistan Palace Library in Tehran (copied in 1095 AH/1683-84 AD) and 1107 AH/1695-96 AD). In both these manuscripts he signed as Ibn Pir Muhammad Muqim, Pir Nur Isfahani.

The present manuscript belonged to Muhammad Mahdi ‘Adl-al-Mulk who recorded the deaths of Muhammad Isma’il Khan Vakil al-Mulk, governor of Kerman and Baluchistan in Kerman on 16 Jumadi II, 1284 AH/15 October 1867 AD and Murtaza Quli Khan Vakil al-Mulk, governor of Kerman, Baluchistan and Sistan in Tehran on 18 Jumadi II 1296 AH/9 June 1879 AD.
