- Lacquer-gilt stucco
assis en vajrasana sur une double base lotiforme, les mains en dhyana mudra tenant le vase de l'elixir d'immortalité, les épaules couvertes d'un long ruban plissé, le visage à l'expression sereine, couronné, entièrement couvert d'une brillante couche de laque dorée aux tons cuivrés
Condition
The figure is finely carved.
There are fine hairline cracks on the gilding overall.
There is a crack starting at the left earing, extending in the upper back, to the right earing then to the front of the chest.
There is a restored area at the back of the top right crown and front of the vase.
The tips of the ribbon are both restored and stuck, the left ribbon with a loss.
The base is restored in two parts : there is a ca. 4.5 cm wide filled-in area to the left and a ca. 2 cm one to the right.
There is overall light wear to the surface.
The actual colour is less red than the catalogue illustration suggests.
