Acquired in China between 1894 and 1922.
Thence in the family by descent.

Condition

The bowls are in overall good condition. The sides are thickly carved. One bowl has veins running through the stones and a ca. 1cm hairline long crack starting on the rim and extending vertically into the side of one bowl. There is also an area of small scratches inside the bowl on one side. The other bowl is in overall good condition, the stone an even tone with natural veins running through one side. The stone is well-polished to a soft glow.
