Description

  • Cloisonne

Provenance

Acquired in Mahé, India, on 20th March 1959 (by repute).

Condition

There have been losses to the enamels that have been filled in just below the rim of the vase particularly on one side, around the shoulders where they join the neck, to the white lotus flower on one side of the body where part of the white and green enamels have been filled in, and around the foot of the vase. The gilding is worn and the copper base has a small piercing to the centre. The enamels are thick, the vase quite heavy and the colours vibrant.
