Condition

This work appears to be in generally good overall condition. The colours are slightly lighter compared to the catalogue illustration. There are traces of stable and threadlike craquelures along the left and right margins. There are light traces of dirt along margins. There is a minor wearing mark by the lower right corner. Under UV light there is evidence of the double layer of the white paint, typical of the artist, also visible under natural light.

Catalogue Note

"And so much the better if Capogrossi’s work has no references [...] regarding him the very same notions the aesthetics deals with are called into question because his work, so essentially nude, his message so complete, so rich, through the metamorphosis of one single sign created by him [...] does not offer any pretext to literature or story. [...] Our age's adventure -he continues- is named Pollock, Capogrossi, Mathieu, Serpan, Sam Francis and like some other Spatial artists from Milan. "
