Condition

These books are in very good condition, the only elements to mention concerns the slipcases. The silk of some of the slipcases are slightly time-stained on the back. The silk of the vol 2 from the serie 'Le Paradis' is time-stained on the cover of the slipcase. There are some minor scratches in places and a small tear to the sink on the cover of the slipcase of one of the volume of the serie' L'Enfer'. Some of the Plexiglass cases are slightly eared or cut at the upper right corner. Condition report of the drawings : Le Visage de Virgile, illustration pour le Purgatoire, Chant 10 pour l'ouvrage de Dante Aliguieri illustré par Salvador Dalí, /La Divine Comédie/, Joseph Foret, Les Heures Claires (1959-1963): Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down, hinged to the overmount in two places along the upper edge. There is a repaired tear (approx. 4cm long) to the lower left corner with an associated area when surface is lifting. There is a further much smaller tear to the lower part of left edge. There is some flattened creases running vertically and two artist's pinholes to the centre of upper edge. The sheet is slightly undulating. There is a stain to the upper right corner and some very tiny paper losses to the surface around the girl's right eye, possibly original. This work is in fairly good condition. La plus grande beauté de Béatrice, illustration pour le Paradis, Chant 8 pour l'ouvrage de Dante Aliguieri illustré par Salvador Dalí, /La Divine Comédie/, Joseph Foret, Les Heures Claires (1959-1963): Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down, taped to the overmount at all four corners and centre of left and right edges. There is some tiny spots of foxing and a few tiny dents to the sheet towards the upper edge, not visually distracting. This work is in overall good condition. L'Ange du soleil, illustration pour le Paradis, Chant 10 pour l'ouvrage de Dante Aliguieri illustré par Salvador Dalí, /La Divine Comédie/, Joseph Foret, Les Heures Claires (1959-1963): Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down, taped to the overmount at the all four corners and the centre of left, right and upper edge. There is mount staining visible along right and lower edge. The sheet is slightly time-stained and there are a few spots of foxing. This work is in overall good condition.

12 grands emboîtages (430 x 355 mm), dont 6 comportant les volumes de textes in-4 (357 x 263 mm). En feuilles, sous chemises rempliées en papier Japon, dans de grands et luxueux emboîtages couverts de satin rouge, parme et vieux rose ; les suites (une pour chaque volume de texte) sont également conservées dans 6 emboîtages similaires. Très bel exemplaire ; coins des protections intérieures en rhodoïd parfois pliés ; satin des emboîtages par endroits légèrement griffé

100 gravures à pleine page d'après les aquarelles de Salvador Dalí, gravées sur bois et tirées en couleurs, sur papier Rive B.F.K.

Un des 21 exemplaires sur Japon nacré réservés à l'éditeur Joseph Forêt, celui-ci n° IV, contenant 3 aquarelles originales, une suite sur soie du trait gravé sur cuivre, une suite en couleurs des illustrations sur Japon nacré, une suite des décompositions des couleurs sur Rives B.F.K et un cuivre gravé et encré. L'exemplaire comporte également, présentés derrière un épais rhodoïd, une lithographie en couleurs d'une aquarelle non retenue, 3 estampes sur satin de Lyon contrecollé et un portrait photographique de Dalí par P. Almasy.

100 original woodcuts by Dali, printed in colours, on Rives B.F.K. paper.

One of the 21 Deluxe copies on "Japon Nacré" paper, for the publisher Joseph Forêt, numbered VI, containing 3 original watercolours signed, one set of the illustrations printed on silk, one set of the illustrations printed on "Japon Nacré" paper, and a set of the decomposition proofs on Rives BFK and one inked copperplate. The copy also contains one original colored lithograph refused for the edition, 3 etching on satin, and a portrait of Dali by P. Almasy.
