- An Egyptian Bronze Figure of the Apis Bull
- bronze
- Height 4 5/16 in. 11 cm.
striding on an inscribed rectangular base, crowned by the sun-disk with uraeus, and wearing a broad beaded collar and a saddle-cloth flanked by a winged vulture and winged scarab over his back, the inscription on the front translating “Apis, gives Life to” and on one side “born of Ta-Her..” and the name (illegible) of the deceased or donor.

Condition
Very good; the surface is slightly rubbed and there is a superficial old nick on top of the disk and several on the lower edge of the base, the two tenons underneath are fragmentary, the inscription is somewhat worn but much more visible on the right side than the photo suggests, front and right side of base slightly bent.
