  • 8 3/8 by 8 15/16 by 1 5/8 in. 21.2 by 22.7 by 4.1 cm.
probably from a talatat, carved in sunk relief with the head of Queen Nefertiti facing left, and wearing an echeloned wig with double uraeus, fillet, and diadem of uraei surmounted by horns and sun-disk with double uraeus, two hands from the rays of the Aten, one holding an ankh towards the queen’s nose, before her; traces of blue and red pigment.

Condition

Repaired from two pieces, as can be seen in the photo. The break passes across the hands and base of the horns, and there are some probable fills along the break-line. Otherwise generally good, minor nicks, note abrasions on the upper eyelid and eyebrow. Some of the material used in the repair appears on the edge behind Nefertiti's wig, and trails up to the top of the diadem, but there does not appear be a break there.
