Catalogue Note

Elements from the coffin of “the priest (sameref) Horudja, son of Iahtefnakht and born to the lady Khââytiretbinet,” were sold at Drouot in Paris in 1977; the lot comprised the lid, made of several planks originally doweled together (including the present one), and both long sides, all engraved with inscriptions. The following lot in the present catalogue, one of the four corner posts, was sold separately and privately.
