  • An Egyptian Polychrome Limestone Head from an Ushabti

  • Height 2 7/8 in. 7.3 cm.
wearing a deep blue tripartite wig, his face with finely-carved lips rounded at the corners and detailed in black, straight nose, and wide-set eyes with long eyebrows and cosmetic lines, the earlobes indented, the cord of his seed-sack on the left shoulder.

Condition

Generally good. The nose has been at least partially restored, after it was sold here in 1991 and before it was sold here again in 1995. Small areas of the polychrome have been in-painted, including most of the proper right eyebrow. BMFA accession and another number are in red ink underneath.
