From magnum in 2016, this is the last vintage made before the sale to the Dillon/Haut Brion family. Just superb, typical old Laville nose, with petrol elements at first, plus walnut skins. Very rich and creamy textured on the palate, with a lift of freshness at the finish. Notes of grapefruit and really full and complex. Fantastic with Orkney scallop and a sea urchin sorbet, brilliantly conceived and executed at the 2-Michelin star Greenhouse in London. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
