Catalogue Note

Willard Snowden was a drifter who lived above Andrew Wyeth’s studio in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania for several years beginning in 1964. Wyeth depicted Snowden a number of times, including in Grape Wine of 1966, now in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Here he is shown in apple orchard adjacent to N.C. Wyeth's studio in Chadds Ford.
