Catalogue Note

The accompanying certificate reads, “The design of this painting depicts a story associated with the Tingari Cycle and related to a site adjacent to Wilkinkarra (Lake Mackay). The story tells of the interrelationship between four subsection groups, how they each relate to Wilkinkarra, an island in the middle of the lake, and to two caves on one side of the lake. Being a Tingari story no further information was available.”
