Condition

Overall in very good original condition. When seen in person, the hat pin displays vivid colors with rich nuances of ultramarine, turquoise, and emerald green, even brighter than in the catalogue illustration. The gold presents with a richer and deeper tone than in the catalogue illustration. The surfaces with a few minor surface scratches, minor abrasions and light surface soiling to the recessed portions of the design, commensurate with age and gentle use. The lower edge of the feather with a very minor enamel loss at the junction of the pin, visible in the catalogue illustration and not visually distracting. A wonderful example of Lalique's early career as a jewellery designer, with great provenance.
