Condition

Overall in good condition. when viewed in person, the shade displays a luminous green which contrasts beautifully with the darker base. The shade with approximately 50 cracks dispersed throughout, consistent with the vase number of tiles which were required to execute this complex shade. The shade is slightly uneven. The telescopic base mount displays a deep green patina with red highlights. The patinated surfaces present with some light surface scratches, abrasions, rubbing, light surface soiling and a few small and minor traces of adhesive residue, consistent with age and gentle use. A circular area of rubbing around the standard, the standard with minor rubbing due to the telescopic base. Five of the sockets appear to be original, one replaced. The Grueby base with a few minor surface scratches and light surface soiling to the recessed areas consistent with age and gentle use. The top of one of the lower leaves with a minor restoration to the edge, sensitively undertaken and only visible upon close inspection. The finial is original and screwed to the shade, retaining the three orignal screws. The naturalist form of the Grueby shade complements beautifully the Fish tail Tiffany shade.
