Condition
Overall in good condition. When viewed under a bright light, the colors are brighter than in the catalogue illustration. The pate de verre with a few minor air bubbles and particulate inclusions scattered throughout, inherent in the making and not visually distractive. The underbase with a minor fleck to the edge, with an associated circular area of discoloration measuring ½ in. in diameter, not visible when the paperweight is displayed and possibly the result of an impact. A good example of Berge’s work for Walter displaying great naturalistic details.
