Condition
Overall in good condition. When viewed in person, the gilding is more vibrant and less green than in the catalogue illustration, with more delineation between the silver plating and the gilding areas. The bronze surfaces with light surface scratches, minor traces of rubbing, minute abrasions and light surface dirt to the recessed areas consistent with age and gentle use. Some wear to gilding and silvering concentrated to the high relief of the design and such consistent with age and cleaning. The silver platting shows traces of tarnishing consistent with atmospheric impact. The glass is likely original with a few inherent air bubbles and particulate inclusions. The lamp is currently fitted with a US plug and not guaranteed for electricity. A very nice example of an emblematic Art Nouveau lamp, rare to appear at auction.
