Condition

Overall in very good condition. The favrile glass Lily shades represent an assembled set, displaying subtle variations in form and coloration. This is commonly seen in Lily lamps, and the set presents harmoniously. The shades are in excellent condition. One shade with a very small edge fleck to the outer top aperture rim (1/8 inch), and a few other shades with some minute edge flecks to the top aperture rims—all exceedingly minor and concealed when the shades are installed. Some of the shades with light surface scratches and rubbing to the top interior from continued surface contact over time with the interior sockets. The exterior of the shades are beautifully iridized, and when viewed with reflected light display a strong range of brilliant jewel-tone hues. The gilt bronze base was recently cleaned, stabilized and conserved by a professional Tiffany restorer. Minor enhancements were made to the gold finish on the central stalk and lower base region where there were prior losses from wear. The base with light surface wear throughout, some occasional surface discolorations and some small scattered traces of oxidation consistent with age and use. With surface soiling and traces of oxidation in the recessed contours of the lower base design. With replaced interior sockets. A very attractive example of this iconic model.
