Condition
Overall in very good condition. Please note that this lot is comprised of a dining table, two armchairs and six chairs. When viewed in person, the color of the wood is more of a blond tone and slightly less red than in the catalogue illustration. The wood surfaces have been sensitively refinished and present with a few minor surface scratches and minor edge abrasions consistent with age and gentle use. A few minor restorations along the edges of the top and leaves, only visible upon close inspection. The two leaves have the same finish color as the table, when installed the extension leaves continue the decorative motif of the table top, as seen in the catalogue illustration. Please contact the department for additional photographs of the table fully extended and without its leaves.
The chairs are in good condition with some surface scratches and minor edge abrasions along the edges of the legs. They have been reupholstered in a neutral white muslin fabric covering upholstery. Some of the chairs show evidences of a previous upholstering at the top of the legs. Some of the legs with very minor scattered restorations. The armchairs measure 31 3/4 x 23 x 23 3/4 inches.
A deeply elegant and harmonious ensemble with great provenance going back to the artist’s family.
