Condition
Overall in very good condition. All of the components, with the exception of the paperweight, display a similar polychrome treatment and color palette. The gilt surfaces throughout with surface soiling to the recessed contours of the design, a few occasional traces of surface oxidation, minor darkening and discoloration to the patina, and some occasional rubbing and minor losses to the polychrome application consistent with age and gentle handling. The rocker blotter is lacking its original liner. The calendar is lacking its original paper sheets. The calendar frame is lacking a clear glass cover. The underside of the lid on the double inkstand with a circular area of dark discoloration, and with minor ink staining to the top interior around the clear glass inkwells. One of the clear glass inkwells with a very small edge chip. On the single inkstand, the favrile glass liner with surface wear and discolorations to the interior. A very handsome set with well preserved polychrome decoration, comprising many desirables forms.
