Condition
Overall condition consistent with age and gentle use. When viewed in person, the vase presents with great scale.
The vase was constructed in three sections and the construction seams are visible with discoloration along the seams.
The silvered metal with tarnishin gand minute pitting. The brown background with a gentle distressed finish consistent with age, handling and light exposure. The inside of the vase in painted beige with scratches to the rim, dust and dirt to the interior. This vase is electrically stable and fitted with a US plug. A spectacular work displaying Grange's talent for monumental dinanderie works.

Catalogue Note
Fernand Grange is known for his monumental dinanderie works, such as the present lot. His designs were produced by the workshop of La Gerbe d'Or and G.A.M., where he was artistic director in the 1930s. In 1931, he was was awarded a Grand Prix at the Exposition Coloniale and in 1937, the French Government commissioned him a work in solid silver.
