Description
- Pierre Patout
- Four Armchairs from the First Class Dining Room of the Normandie
- mahogany, gilt bronze and fabric upholstery
Condition
Overall in good condition. The wood has been sensitively refinished and presents with minor surface scratches, minor edge abrasions and light surface dirt consistent with age and gentle use. The wooden surfaces with a few minor discolorations and surface stains concentrated to the legs and not at all visually distractive. Please note that the gilding of the bronze is now worn off, revealing the bare bronze. The bronze surfaces with surface scratches, a few minor abrasions, minor evidences of oxidation and surface dirt consistent with age and use. The armchairs have been reupholstered and the upholstery is in good condition with minor surface dirt consistent with gentle use. A very elegant group designed for the Normandie Ocean Liner.
