Condition

Overall in condition consistent with age and use. As seen in the catalogue illustration, the vellum presents with traces of wear, minor staining and discoloration, a few surface scratches as expected with use and the material. Some minor tears following the construction lines. An element has been reglued to the lower portion of the top, as visible on the right of the catalogue illustration. The vellum covered portion with a minor area of loss to the vellum in the lower portion, along approximately 2 inches The wood with some surface scratches, edge abrasions, areas of discoloration and surface dirt and with a few minor edge losses. One of the circular decorative elements with an horizontal crack, not visually disturbing. An area of losses along the edge of the lower tier, visible on the right in the catalogue illustration. With a minor crack to the lower tray, visible in the catalogue illustration. The metal inlays with minor lifting, a few losses and discoloration throughout. The copper with minor surface scratches, oxidizing and surface dirt throughout. Please contact the department for additional photographs. A very elegant form which epitomizes Bugatti’s Moorish inspiration.
