Condition
Overall in good condition. When viewed first-hand, the enamel work presents with beautiful nuances and saturated colors. The pewter surface with minor oxidation, minor rubbing and light surface dirt. The recessed areas of the design with concentrated dirt and some remnants of cleaning product. The reverse of the clock with some minor surface scratches and minor surface staining. The copper with minor surface scratches and minute abrasions. The hands are likely original and present with minor bending and wear to the plating. The enamel is in very good condition, displaying a diverse palette of saturated jewel-tone hues. The enamelwork has been examined under black light and appears original and undisturbed. The enamel with a few scattered minute losses, the largest adjacent to the 6. The movement is impressed Lenzkirch/Aug/1 Million/454571. With a key that is probably replaced. Movement is not guaranteed to run at the time of cataloging and was not tested for accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer’s discretion. The interior of the door with a key holder and a modern paper label, likely from a previous provenance, Harnik Bros., Jewelers, Tarrytown, NY. A very good example of the model in very good condition with beautifully articulated decoration.
