Condition

Overall very good condition consistent with age and gentle use. The glass in very good condition. The lower glass is opal and the upper glass is of later production. Minor oxidation to the base as is consistent with age.

An advertisement from 1938 states 'It happens occasionally that you finish your phone call a bit quickly by banging it on the PH lamp's upper shade instead of the hook. If the phone and the PH lamp have to be beside each other then it is wise to have the glass upper shades swapped for a metal upper shade...'
