Condition
The canvas has not been lined. There are some areas of hairline craquelure visible under close inspection which are consistent for an unlined painting of the period. Ultra-violet reveals some carefully applied thin lines of cosmetic retouching addressing fine craquelure, which are very minor given the overall size of the work. These are visible notably in the green and red drapery towards the lower edge, in the red pigments of the sitter's left sleeve and on the right edge of her blouse, in her hair and in the background towards the centre right. The face appears to be virtually untouched. The work is in good condition and ready to hang.
Presented in a gilt frame with a nameplate.
